Hello friends! Today I want to share with you one of the poems I have written. I believe it will bless your heart. There are many things we go through in this life that we do not understand at the time we are going through them.But God is faithful to show up and show us what the trial was for later in His timing. This poem was written in 2003.I had strayed away from God for a season and after coming back home to him and realizing I should have never left,He gave me this poem.May you be blessed by it today,and through sharing the experiences of others,may you find peace in knowing that you are not alone in the trials you go through in this life.
"My Canvas"
And this is my canvas
My Rainbow of dreams
My nightmares of failure
The white paper of life
Etched with God's love
He created the masterpiece
Before I was born
Tho the storms of life
Left it tattered and torn
Tho the middle was broken
And cracks along each side
The edges were glued
And strong like the tide
The waters raged in
And filled it with black,ugly sin
But alas,The "Son" did shine
and the canvas was white again
This time the canvas was a garden
of flowers,roses,water and fruit
Little birds of red,blue and green
Yellow,purple,even some pink
I wondered so carelessly
No fear I knew
Until my garden
The rains and winds blew
The trees were slit open
And the sands were blow out
Leaving big,deep holes
Pits that I could not climb out
I struggled and climbed,I would not give up
Then as the sands fell down,they formed a step from the pit
for me to climb up
At last I could see the "Son" shine again
I ran and I sang,and I danced so again!
Then I looked all around But I was lost and unfound
The trees where I were where I'd once been so gay
Were barren and black and empty of life that day
I begin to grow afraid,as the sun begin to fades
Fear came upon me
I began to panic and cry
The night was so black
Not a star in the sky
The beasts and the birds
I could only hear them cry
Lost in a front
No helper was there
My back was so heavy
Burdened down with my care
Where is this place
that I found only yesterday?
Why have my joy and peace
been totally wiped away?
Crying and sobbing to the trees that were near
I prayed desperately but nobody could hear
Alone and so helpless,i somehow found peace
As a hand from above rocked me to sleep
I awoke with a start and a jump full of dread
When I opened my eyes,water gushed over my head
I was drowning in sin,Now,Oh how could this be?
Does there not exist any one man who could ever care for me?
I've given my body,my heart and my soul
But now it's been taken,of it,I have no control
It's scared and it trembles and rumbles with fear
Fear that its meaningless to the one it holds dear
The water is rushing now,I have no control
So I say one last prayer and prepare to be washed away
When up out of the midst of the storms of my sea
Rose a man clad in silver,smiling at me
His horse is of white,His face I can't see
But His countenance is mighty,and valiant you see
His hair like an angels is flowing of blonde
And he reaches down
And touches me gently and fond
With one swoop of his arm,He lifts the whole weight of me
Oh! But the joy when he doesn't drop me!
Now the storms have all ceased and the billows wont roll
The forest is gone and no more is my wounded soul
The life and the love that He reached out for me
Oh! What Savior Who could this man be?
I wanted to ask him but awe took my voice
All I could do was gaze into his eyes and silently rejoice
Then He said,with a voice so strong and clear
"All you had to do was ask,and I would have saved you,my dear".
"For each time you cried,I watched and sat near,crying with pain when you wouldn't let me wipe away your fear."
"It was only when you finally gave up and let go,that I could come and cleanse your heart of the pain you used to know."
"For I created thee for joy,not for terror and fear,and always remember,though you can't always see me,I'm always right here."
"And someday we will go on a heavenly ride,and leave all your worries and fears all aside"
"But always remember,when darkness comes near,just call out my name,it is Jesus and I'm always right here."
"My love will be with you through hell and through night,so never give up,fight a good fight."
"Until we meet face to face on that glorious day,You can feel heaven right here,the price I have paid."
"Anytime you want,my dear;for I sit and I wait for your small voice to hear"
"Just speak out my name and I'll always be near."
"Jesus,Jesus,Jesus..."I hear him even now,as He whispers in my ear.
